Buying, remaking, commissioning, repairing — all at one Vienna bench since 1993

A one-off made to measure, a new piece from your own old gold, a considered purchase or a careful repair: all of it is made directly in our master workshop behind the shop at Singerstrasse 5, 1010 Vienna. Your gold and your gemstones never leave the building at any point.

Step by step

How old gold becomes a new piece

No appointment, no obligation and no cost until you say yes. This is the whole procedure.

  1. Come in without an appointment

Bring broken chains, single earrings or dental gold to Singerstrasse 5 during opening hours.

    No appointment
  2. Weighed and valued in front of you

We establish the carat and weigh every piece on the precision scale at the counter.

    Full transparency
  3. Design and stone selection

We examine the stones you bring under the microscope and settle the profile, the width and the setting.

    30–60 min
  4. A clear written quotation

You get a binding breakdown, with the material value deducted directly from the labour.

    Free
  5. Made at our own bench

Melted, worked, set and finished by hand in our own Vienna workshop — not sent to a third party.

    By hand, in Vienna

No obligation, full transparency, and nothing to pay until you say yes.

Most people are surprised how much wearable jewellery is sitting in that drawer.

The workshop

Facts about the MIKIRYAN workshop

Most jewellers on this street forward the work to a third party. Here the bench is behind the counter: Parnak Mikiryan melts, sizes, sets, solders and engraves himself. That is why a resize is a matter of days, why your gold never leaves the building, and why you can be told on the spot whether something is worth doing.

Restoration

Most things are worth keeping

Worn shanks, lost stones, bent claws, snapped chains: an inherited ring that looks beyond help is usually repairable, and often for less than people expect. Bring it in and you will get an honest answer before any work starts.

Bringing a piece in for an assessment costs nothing and takes about ten minutes.

Frequently asked

Before your visit

What does it cost to have my old gold valued?

The appraisal is free. We weigh your material on calibrated scales in front of you and tell you the exact value of the day, with no obligation to sell or to commission anything.

Do I need an appointment for advice or a repair?

No. You can walk into the workshop Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 17:00 without booking.

Can stones from old rings or brooches be reused?

Yes. We check your stones under the loupe first and tell you honestly which are worth resetting, then take them out carefully to work them into your new piece.

What happens if the old gold is worth more than the new piece?

If the material value exceeds the labour, we pay you the difference straight away or credit it to your account.

Does my gold or my jewellery leave the building?

No. Every stage, from melting to setting, happens at the bench at Singerstrasse 5.
