Services

Everything happens at our own bench

Whether you want something made, something mended or something looked at before you decide — this is what the workshop does. Prices are given before work starts.

Step by step

How old gold becomes a new piece

No appointment, no obligation and no cost until you say yes. This is the whole procedure.

  1. Come in without an appointment

Bring broken chains, single earrings or dental gold to Singerstrasse 5 during opening hours.

    No appointment
  2. Weighed and valued in front of you

We establish the carat and weigh every piece on the precision scale at the counter.

    Full transparency
  3. Design and stone selection

We examine the stones you bring under the microscope and settle the profile, the width and the setting.

    30–60 min
  4. A clear written quotation

You get a binding breakdown, with the material value deducted directly from the labour.

    Free
  5. Made at our own bench

Melted, worked, set and finished by hand in our own Vienna workshop — not sent to a third party.

    By hand, in Vienna

No obligation, full transparency, and nothing to pay until you say yes.

At the bench

The full list

01

Consultation

Materials, stones, construction and what a piece will survive in daily wear — talked through before anything is ordered.

02

Remaking old gold

Melted, reworked and reset into something that gets worn. Weighed in front of you, with the material credited against the work.

03

Made to order

From a sketch or an idea to a finished piece, in five stages with your approval at each one. Three to six weeks.

04

Repairs

Broken clasps, worn claws, cracked shanks, snapped chains and lost stones. An assessment costs nothing.

05

Ring resizing

Up or down, in gold and platinum. Usually a few working days because the bench is here.

06

Stone setting and replacement

Claw, bezel, pavé and channel work. Replacement diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and rubies matched to what is already there.

07

Pearl restringing

Restrung on silk with a knot between each pearl, so a broken thread costs you one pearl rather than all of them.

08

Engraving

Machine, hand, laser and stone engraving — names, dates, handwriting and fingerprints.

09

Cleaning and polishing

Ultrasonic cleaning and hand polishing. Worth doing every twelve to eighteen months on a ring worn daily.

10

Jewellery for sale

Finished pieces from the shop floor — wedding and engagement rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Alterations are done at the bench here.

Restoration

Most things are worth keeping

Worn shanks, lost stones, bent claws, snapped chains: an inherited ring that looks beyond help is usually repairable, and often for less than people expect. Bring it in and you will get an honest answer before any work starts.

Bringing a piece in for an assessment costs nothing and takes about ten minutes.
