Thirty years on one street
About MIKIRYAN
The workshop opened at Singerstrasse 5 in 1993 and has not moved since. Parnak Mikiryan is a registered master goldsmith, listed with the Vienna Chamber of Commerce for the gold and silversmith trade and for the retail of jewellery.
The distinguishing thing about the shop is unglamorous but matters: the bench is on the premises. Melting, sizing, setting, soldering, engraving and polishing happen here rather than being forwarded to a workshop somewhere else. That is why your gold never leaves the building, why work is measured in days, and why you can be given a straight answer about a repair while you wait.
Most of the work is not new jewellery at all. It is inherited pieces reworked into something that is actually worn, worn shanks rebuilt, stones from a ring nobody likes reset into something that suits the person who now owns it. People arrive with a drawer and leave with a plan.
Customers come from the neighbourhood and from a good deal further away — the first district is a place people walk through. Many arrive with something they inherited and a question about what it could become.

Facts about the MIKIRYAN workshop
Most jewellers on this street forward the work to a third party. Here the bench is behind the counter: Parnak Mikiryan melts, sizes, sets, solders and engraves himself. That is why a resize is a matter of days, why your gold never leaves the building, and why you can be told on the spot whether something is worth doing.

Four things we hold to
The work stays here
Repairs and commissions are made at our own bench, not forwarded. Your gold does not leave the building, and that is what makes short turnarounds and honest assessments possible.
You see the scale
Old gold is weighed on the counter in front of you, karat by karat, before anything else is discussed. There is no version of this where you have to take our word for it.
An honest answer first
If a repair costs more than the piece is worth, or a stone is not what someone was told it was, you hear it before any work begins.
Nothing costs until you say yes
The assessment, the weighing and the written quotation are all free and carry no obligation.
